Error: Export Report to Excel

When exporting attempting to export a BCM 2007 report to excel I receive the
following error: Business Contact Manager has encountered an internal error
in Excel. Please reinstall Excel and all of its components.

Repairing and reinstalling do not solve the problem. Any ideas?
 
open excel, click on the office button > excel option > select save and
change the "save in files format" to Excel work book .xls .

Then re-open Business contact manager and try the report
