Error During Publish

I added a folder with one html file and one image in it. When I
publish I get the following error.

"Server error: The folder that would hold URL 'myfolder/myfile.htm'
does not exist on the server."

It creates the 'myfolder', but doesn't put the two files in it and
issues the above error.

any ideas?

I got one of those this week. When I investigated, I found I had created a
loose folder in the My Webs folder that wasn't a real web yet. Looked like
it was being considered a sub web, which it was not. I didn't know it had
created the folder - haven't been to look yet, so thanks for the heads up.
I'll have to get rid of it.
