Hi,

I wanted know if anyone out there have experience the following error during
the final step of the Network Setup Wizard.

The error message: Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and
needs to close.

The technical details:
C:\DOCUME~MARKBE~LOCALS~1\TEMP\WER82.TMP.DIR00\SPOOLSV.EXE.MDMP
C:\DOCUME~MARKBE~LOCALS~1\TEMP\WER82.TMP.DIR00\APPCOMPAT.TXT

I was trying to setup home network for Windows XP Pro via WORKGROUP. This
error occurs on one of the client's laptop, that is running Windows XP SP1.
So far, from my initial search at the Microsoft Knowledge Base, all the
return support articles point to printer drivers.

I was wondering if anyone know exactly what the cause or remedy can be.

Best Regards,

Before running the Network Setup Wizard, type this line at a command
prompt:

net stop spooler

After running the Network Setup Wizard, type this line at a command
prompt:

net start spooler

Thank You Steve,

That did the trick as far as getting me to complete the network setup.
However I am running into a new problem right after that. I will post it
into the forum in search of information to resolve it.

Best Wishes for the Holidays!
