error: duplicate values

What does the error message Duplicate values in the index
and primary key or the relationship mean? My daughter was
trying to add another record to a table and Access won't
let her add more than 30. Thanks, Linda

Hi,

If the table has a primary key or an index (no duplicates) set on a field,
then you cannot enter the same data into that field in more than one record.
Check your table design and look at the properties on each field - you
should find that one has the "Index: Yes (No Duplicates)" option set, in
which case two records in the table cannot have the same data for this
field.

There are two solutions to this: either set the Index to "Yes (Duplicates
OK" in the table design (but bear in mind that the person who designed the
database probably had a good reason for this being setup like that), or
enter different data into the field.

Cheers,

Jamie.
