Error: dotnetfx.exe is not a valid win32 application. :-?

When I try to install .Net framework 1.1 on an Xp Pro system with VS.Net Pro
installed this is the error I get.

How can I correct this?
 
You're asking in a wrong NG, this one is for Compact Framework.
Anyway, try downloading it one more time. Your copy is probably corrupted.
