Error Copying File or Folder

Windows XP SP1, Autocad LT - user can save file to A: thru Autocad Lt,
however if he uses Windows Explorer and tries to cut and paste a file into A:
he receives the following error:

Error Copying File or Folder
Cannot copy 424789k: The Volume for a file has been externally altered so
that the opened file is no longer valid.
Only option is OK

We tried multiple files and diskettes always the same result.

Thanks in advance for your help.

"Cut and paste"? Why not try Copy and Paste? Cut and paste will not
work unless it has a file name. Copy and paste will work for the entire
file using Windows Explorer. I am not familiar with Autocad.

meant copy and paste, dragging files did not work either; we are not losing
any files; thanks
