Error: "Can't Move the item" to Outlook folder

I have folders set up where I store email messages. All of a sudden today,
when trying to move messages into folders, I am told "Can't move the item".
Tried several messages, different folders, same result. Any idea what's going
on?

how many items are in the folders? Depending on your version and age of the
pst, it can be limited to about 16,000 or 65,000.

Diane, thanks... but I don't have nearly that many items. I also tried
deleting a pile of stuff and emptying the trash folder to see if creating
more space would help, but it did not.

This problem just appeared suddenly this morning. Up to now, I have
consistently used the folders to keep my mail organized (although I admit, I
still have too much email stored... really need to clean house. Come to think
of it, I need to clean the junk out of my house, too...)

Other ideas?
