Error ( AVG Kernel Error) Language file failed

When looking at my Emils I get the folowing error, AVG Kernel Error, aand in
the box below this is , Language file failed. I can't seem to send Emails
without this message, or reading any Emails. I am not real computer literate,
so bare with me. Thanks
 
AVG is your virus scanning software. Have you tried updating it or turning
off its mail scanning?
 
I can't find AVG to update or to turn it off

You have to understand, I do not know much about computing. It seems that
when I try to get adventurous I get into trouble. I appreciate everyone
trying to help me, but I don't understand most of anything said about the
subject. I am an old retired man trying to pass the time and learn something
about this computer.

Perhaps a call to your local Best Buy's Geek Squad is in order, then.
