error -5000

Hi all,

I have an iMac on 10.2.6. Trying to get to my Windows
2003 server using afp or smb. I get a login prompt with
workgroup, username, and password, but after entering my
info, I get an error -5000 connecting over smb. I tried
some suggestions from other posts about disabling
digitally signed always for client and server, but no
luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Lucian!

Your problem does indeed sound like the digital signing policy as you've
described. I don't remember which policy (Domain Security Policy, Domain
Controller Security policy) needs to be changed but there are a couple
of these policies. You may have changed the wrong one.

Also be sure to either reboot the server or refresh the group policy
after making the changes.
