Error 429

I have a Client running an Access 97 DB for 6 years.

She is now getting Error 429, & apparently has "lost" one of the
DAO 3.5 files...Tools - References does show "Missing" DAO 3.5.

Is there an easy way to find the lost/corrupted file???

This happened 2 - 3 years ago, & I found the lost file then & replaced it.

Is there a better solution???

First, why is the file disappearing? Is there a bad sector on the hard
drive? Was there a program or system crash? Was there a power outage while
Jet was in use?

You might try downloading and installing the latest Jet 3.51 service pack
and see if installing that will fix the problem.

Wayne - Great question.

The client has a 1999 Compaq which she bought as a closeout.

I have always liked Compaq, but PCs DO wear out. I think she is ready
to buy a Dell, which should be OK. I have seen only 2 bad Dell PCs of the
"beaucoup" I have seen.

I will try your advice when I visit her Sunday.
