On Friday the 27th, I asked about an Error 429 problem.

I found out today that the User HAD deleted "several files,"
so I uninstalled Office 97 & Reinstalled. I still get the "Error 429".

The PC has had other "weird" things happening, & the User has been
talking about buying a new PC. Since I have seen a NEW Dell (last month)
elsewhere fail to work w/ VB 6 until ANOTHER new PC was installed, I'm
going to give the "time to buy a new PC" trick a try.

My question...how many others are seeing Access start to fail on PCs at
least 6 years old???

TIA - Bob

Hi Bob,

I suspect that installing or uninstalling other software is clobbering your
friend's installation of Access. If you still want to try fixing her PC, try
the following KB articles:

How To Ensure Jet 3.5 Is Installed Correctly (Part I)

and

Tom - Interesting...because the User is an Insurance Agent & "downloads &
adds Insurance Programs frequently." She complains about those Insurance
download Programs malfunctioning.

So...after I read these articles, apparently one or more DAO files gets
toasted.

THANK you very much.
