Error (3709)

An access database I created for my office developed an error when entering
data and/or using the spell check. The error message says, "Error (3709)",
"The search key was not found in any record." What can I do to fix this
error? The error seems resticted to only a field records. The database is
linked to another database.

Hi,

My name is Amy Vargo. Thank you for using the Microsoft Access Newsgroups.

Usually this error indicates corruption. Can you access any records in the
table? Does only a particular record give the error? If so, try exporting
the table as a Text file, clean up the text file, then import the text file
back into the database as a table. If you cannot export the table, try
copying and pasting the records above and below the bad record to Excel,
then you can manually re-enter the data for the bad record and import the
Excel spreadsheet into the database as a table. Also, make sure you
compact the database, test importing the objects into a new database, and
you can even run the jetcomp.exe utility if you are not able to open the
database at all to try to compact and repair it.

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
