Error 3197 - MS Jet d/b engine stopped because you and another use

The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another
user are attempting to change the same data at the same time. (Error 3197)

I have been creating a database over the last few days (At home and work)
and carry it around on a flash drive, I have come to modify it this morning
and get the above error message appearing. I am the only user that is using
the database and only have one copy open when working with the file. I have
tried a compact and repair but the same message appears, i have also tried
running the /decompile but get the same message appearing.

Is there anyway I can get the file to open?

I always add a column in each table called systemtimestamp, and select the
data type as TimeStamp. This allows the fields to be updated and appears to
be quite stable.

The problem is that i cant even open the database to add this field, the
above error message appears when i try opening it...

In that case, create a new mdb or adp and import your forms, queries etc
