What type of field?
I got this error on one of my databses because code was putting the USERID
and date into a timestamp field. The field was exactly the right size, but
one of my users had modified their date regional settings in the control
panel. The "short date" format for this person included a 4-digit year.
This caused the error you mention. After changing their settings back to a
two-digit year, all worked well.

Having finally converted from Windows 98 to Windows XP I am now getting an
message of error #3163 The field is too small to accept the amount of data
you attempted to add. Try inseting or pasting less data. Can anyone
provide me with a possible solution to correct this problem?
