Error -2048: The file is not a movie file.

Error -2048: The file is not a movie file. That is the message I get.

I import video into "My Videos" folder in .avi format from my camera. I open
WMM and edit the video accordingly. I save movie file back into "My Videos"
folder. When I attempt to view the file after its final completion and save,
I get that error message. A few months ago I made similar movies and when I
saved the movie file in its final form, it took a few minutes to finish
saving. This time though it took a matter of seconds. This is strange that I
randomly now get this message.

Any ideas?

====================================
After your "final completion and save"...
What format did you save the file in?
..wmv, .avi, .mswmm?

What app are you trying to view it with?

I think John's got this one nailed as well.
IT saved in a few seconds because you only saved the project.
Click "Save to my computer" from the left task pane or
press CTRL+P or
click File -> Save Movie File
any of these will open the save movie wizard to save as a WMV or DV-AVI.

Windows Movie Maker2 will use a IEEE1394 FireWire to Capture your Digital
Device(Camcorder)..it all starts with a WIZARD opening..which should have
your DV-Camcorder installed as a DEVICE..You can choose TWO-modes..Auto or
Manual/and the result is a DV-avi File Loaded into the COLLECTIONS section of
Windows Movie Maker2..and also as a FILE in the MY VIDEO's FOLDER..from that
point your done..you can DELETE the COLLECTIONS FILE and the MY VIDEO's FILE
will remain..if you do a small amount of EDITING/from COLLECTIONS---and SAVE
that for completion later useing a MSMM-file extension(you can NOT move your
MY VIDEO's FILE from its original SPOT)ONLY use the COPY-feature..to start a
NEW FOLDER and FILE..[SO]leave the CAPTURED FILE in its original location[My
VIDEOS]use COPY to move it somewhere else..COLLECTIONS will re-open the
FILE(un-edited)or....MSMM-file extension will OPEN your EDITED Movie into the
STORYBOARD(for completion)..you must SAVE to MY COMPUTER from the
STORYBOARD[every-time]..or....Back to MSMM-file extension until your complete
on EDITING.
