Error 1706

When I open powerpoint 2000 in a profile that has only user rights I get a
error 1706. WWhen I am in a profile with Admin rights it opens fine. I found
article 224097 , but that has me reinstalling Office. Even if I do that is
there a way to prevent this from happening and do you all know what is
happening?
Thanks

The article at the following URL explains what is happening as does the article
that you found:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/253768/en-us

The paragraph headed "Cause" explains what's happening. The paragraph headed
"Resolution" in the URL above gives a more straight forward solution.

Why is it happening? It seems to be caused when you attempt to use a feature
that isn't yet installed. When you install Office, some features are fully
installed and others are specified to be installed "upon first use". When you
first use one of those latter features the installation CD must be in the CD
drive so that the feature can be installed. If it isn't and if the original
cached files have been deleted, the error occurs. I can't remember how the
installation of Office 2000 works, but for PowerPoint 2002 and 2003 the
installation files are saved and available on your hard drive unless you specify
that they be deleted at the end of the installation process. I don't know if
that makes sense. Please let me know if you need some clarification.
