Error 0xC004D401 (Windows Vista Activation)

Running Vista RC1 Build 5600 config'd as Ultimate, no matter what I do with a
Microsoft-supplied Product Key, this build will not validate.

I upgraded from XP Pro SP2 (not a clean install) without a whole lot of
consternation other than growing a beard during the install and conversion
process.

Running a P4 2.66GHz with 2G of ram. I am getting a hardware issue with a
Robotics modem not in use. Could this be blocking the Aero features and
preventing its validation via the native WGA?

Any help will be appreciated, as will sarcastic comments.

Hi

Aero features would be more likely disabled because of your video card. If
it is not up to scratch then Aero does not load. I have the same on my Dell
Latitude D600 with lower end ATI chipset. The 'cheap' version loads as
standard and Aero features are not listed.

WGA issues should not be affected by a hardware issue with your modem.

I have the same problem (on a newer machine). activation just says it fails.
I get a windows that says "there is a problem with your license so
notifications will no longer appear. And the error code (0xC004D401) with
description of "The Security Processor reported a system ile mismatch error.

Please someone reply to this if there is a solution.

Thanks.
