Error 0xc0000005

Christoph

I'm running WinXP Pro SP2. Yesterday I got infected by malware
(SpySherriff) and followed the directions here

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic22402.html

to remove it. The instructions seemed pretty straightforward and it worked
(as far as I know). Afterwards, I went in to Norton and tried to restore my
C: drive using Ghost (10.0). However, everytime I try to select any option
for Ghost ('Recover My Computer', 'Backup My Files', etc), XP gives me the
following error:

UIMain.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to
terminate the application

I can run every other Norton app fine - Speed Disk, Disk Doctor, etc. Just
Ghost gives this problem. I've looked in the eventvwr and was unable to
find anything relating to this error. I've looked in the MS KB for the
above error and what it sats doesn't appear to have anything to do with the
context in which I'm getting it. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this problem?

thnx,
Christoph
