Erratic report layout

I’m using a report/subreport, where the subreport is in datasheet format, and
can have from one to six lines of data on any given report. All is present in
the Detail section of the Report. There are items both above and below the
subreport on the report. No headers or footers are present on the report.
The report requires printing on a preprinted layout.
The form design has been laid out for a six-line subreport, and, as such,
prints with perfect alignment. However, I find that when there are less than
six line items in the subreport, everything in the report above and including
the subreport fields are correctly aligned, but those fields below the
subreport are not aligned properly. Some controls are, indeed, raised, and
other controls are lowered.
Can anyone explain how this might be corrected, other than by using a
different template for each report, depending upon how many line items there
are in the subreport.
TIA, Richard

It isn't clear to me if you are printing forms or datasheets or what? I
would only print reports with subreports. You can set the height of the
subreport to your 6 lines and don't allow it to shrink or grow.

I'm using a report/subreport, where the subreport is in datasheet format,
and
[quoted text clipped - 18 lines]
are in the subreport.

Duane:
I'm printing a report with a subreport, with the subreport in datasheet
format (ie- for line items). The controls beneath the subreport get mis-
aligned as soon as I have 6 lines in the subreport. The height of the
subreport allows the controls beneath it to function properly only when less
than 6 line items. If I increase the size of the subreport on the report,
then I cover up some of the fields below, which will not work for the
preprinted forms that are being edited.
If I have the cangrow property of the subreport set to yes, it will only
print 5 lines, and the controls below it get misaligned.
Confusing, NO?
The only workaround that I've found is to have two different templates, one
set for up to 5 lines, and another for a six line invoice, with the lower
controls set in the proper position. But this is Sloppy.
