erratic behavior of linked objects

Hi, all -

I'm using MS Office 2008. I have a Word document into which I'd like to link
several spreadsheets. When I use the Insert --> Object... command, though,
the results are unpredictable. Sometimes, it only grabs part of the visible
portion of a spreadsheet; other times it includes some non-printing areas. It
also sometimes re-sizes my tables when it seems unnecessary.

Can anyone help me get a little more control over this?

Since this is a Word version created for the Macintosh, you may want to ask
in a Mac-specific newsgroup such as microsoft.public.office.mac; if you are
