Enter 97402 if you wish to see it but it is just the old printer or

Plun, why do you hate MSN so much?

I dont hate MSN but I was really angry about MSN
when MS started Microsoft Network and tried to
close Internet in 1995 I think it was.

Before this it was a great time with Mosaic, Windows and
some UNIX apps (SLIP) to come out on Internet.

MSN also catch users with friendly colours, a good looking
GUI and
so on, I think todays modern users deserve much more then
this junk.

MSN is also in a real greyzone about spyware beacuse I
believe that everything
is tracked wherever you go within MSN and beacuse of MSN
Microsoft can´t
do a safe browser.

And I don´t hate MSN, my personal opinion is that non
thinking human uses
this place instead of real quality services where you need
to think yourself.

But MSN Explorer utilizes the Internet Explorer engine, shouldn't you be
hating IE instead?

MSN no longer provides a pop3 server. No longer has an nntp server. Even
when they did they were secure and one could only use MS applications. If
not for their low cost service (usually provied under another name) I doubt
they would still be in business.

One more thing, I compared msn.com and msn.se my country and
I think the US version have higher thoughts about todays users.

http://www.msn.com/

compare it with my country and you understand why I dislike it.

http://www.msn.se/

In the US version they have indeed cleaned a lot of AD junk.

Actually, Track eraser WILL delete ALL cookies, if you ask it to. Most
folks find this more than they wanted, though.

It is selective scanning and removal of cookies that is the issue.

There are MVP's that use macs, as well as well-known and vocal Microsoft
employees who use macs at home. Ron isn't one, though, I believe.

I think it is--how many people here know what a selectric was? Remember
when typewriters worked without electricity even?

I tend to agree that MSN is an abomination. My own home page is set to the
New York Times. But then, I'm an old fogey. If the rest of the world looks
at the MSN home page and thinks that American culture and values are
reflected in the choices as displayed there, they are getting a terrible
picture. I expect the .SE version has similar issues.

I stopped using the MSN home page when their search mechanism became
intrusive. I do go back every once in a while, and find, perhaps, a story
or two that was worth looking at. OTOH, there are always between 3 and 6
stories at the New York Times I'm glad I've read, on a daily basis.

I never used the NNTP, so I can't comment, but they do still provide a pop3
server. Perhaps I am the only user of it left, though?

Yes and I also show how msn.se version looks, I think this
is a disgrace
of every user using this great Windows software.

I also believe that MSN managers has to much power within MS
and also
that every country must have a break/even result for MSN
and therefore my country
looks awful with a overfilled AD junk box.

MS ! do something about this and give us real quality within
MSN.

I get all the functionality I need out of MSN and MSN Home Page, I read lot
of the gossip. But its sad though that Microsoft decided to make MSN
Explorer a premium service, how much I would have loved to use versions 8,
8.5 and 9.

All right--that does it. I'm gonna start posting messages blaming your
country for Metro! (you know--the short newspaper distributed in public
transit?) I think it is a Swedish invention--and taking $ out of the mouths
of the traditional newspapers everywhere it goes.

Just get Verizon DSL service--MSN premium is 'sposed to be thrown in
free--I've never really investigated, though.

More debate .. ;)

When Metro first came out we have the same debate about taking
"real" newspaper numbers but now its only a garbage problem.
In every Underground station we have Metro garbage bins for
recycling.

Todays Metro, Stockholm in pdf for electronic recycling:

Metro world:

It looks better then MSN..... ;)

B

Bill Sanderson

It does look better than MSN, and actually has a page of useful information
about the transit system. Otherwise, it's a poor substitute for a real
newspaper--there just isn't sufficient space to print more than minimal
detail.

The recycling bins are a great idea--I'll see if we can push for them here.
Unfortunately, the economics of newsprint recycling are against us. We
still do it, but I think there's a net cost for recycling the stuff.
