Equation Editor Shortcut Button

Is there a way to create a shortcut button in PowerPoint 2007 for the
equation editor feature.

Unfortunately, no. You can open it in a separate window, and copy &
paste into PPT 2007 though. To open EE as a separate window, go to (in
Windows XP):

Start > Run > "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\EQUATION\EQNEDT32.EXE"
