If these are both fairly modern, they probably use
a USB connection. You need a USB cable with
the correct connectors at each end.

probably with some sort of cable ;-)

What connection(s) does the printer have and what does your laptop have.

Epson did offer a parallel to USB converter for their printers at one point.

This must be the G3 without USB ports...ethernet is the only (best) way to
go...If you have a router with a USB port you can connect the printer to
that as long as you know the IP address...easy on Macs due to their built-in
networking...
