epson stylus 640 Print problem with Win xp

Hoping for some help

Upgraded my computer from an pentium 2 Win 98 platform to a P4 D Win xp

Despite the more luxurious environment - my trusty Epson printer has
refused to work properly <{8-o)

installed the printer via plugnplay to Lpt1 - parallel
also installed their new remote status monitor patch from Epson's
website

When i try printing an excel file - my document prints - spread out
over 5+ pages
(a few rows & columns on each page)

With Word- I get spontaneous/random blank lines inserted into the
document - that is also spread over several pages

Tried printing a fresh test document - in case there was some
excel/word transfer compatability problems - but I get the same
printing problems.

HELP?

HELP?

I have seen posts here that say that reinstallation of printer drivers is
almost never necessary. I can state quite definitely that I have seen many
cases where this has solved problems similar to this, so I suggest that you do
an uninstall of the drivers and reboot, followed by a complete reinstall.
