Epson printer preferences, can't view status monitor

Hi,

First time posting here, please be gentle I have recently got hold of an
Epson Stylus C64, and when I go into the printers preferences to try and
view the status monitor under the maintenence tab, it doesn't let me. The
options for both status monitor and replace ink cartridge are greyed out and
unclickable, the nozzle check, print head cleaning, and alignment options
all work as they should. I am running Windows XP Pro. I have tried
installing the newest drivers from
the Epson site, and i have checked bidirectional communication is enabled in
the properties as the Epson website states that status monitor will only
work when this is enabled, which it is, i even tried turning it off and on
again. It is plugged in via USB. I'm stumped on this one, can anyone offer
any ideas? I tried asking Epson technical support, they havn't got back to
me yet....

The Status Monitor package of software is often a separate download and
installation from the main drivers package. Check the Epson website at
www.epson.com to see if this is the case for your printer.
