Epson Perfection 1200U doesn't move, blinks green

Hello All,

(sorry for multiposting, selected wrong group for other posting)

my Epson Perfection 1200U stopped working: the LED flashes green,
nothing moves, CC-lamp is off, no reaction at USB interface (using a
PC without Epson drivers).

Voltages (24V, 5V, 11,9V from PSU, 5V and 3,3V on controller board)
seem to be o.k. so I would appreciate any hint
- where to look next or
- how to get a service manual.

Sending the scanner to Epson for repair is inefficient because it
costs 140EUR...

My condolences.
The dead should be treated with respect.
The 1280 was a great scanner in its day but it is time to move on.
I still have one of these ancient beasts but it is used lightly and has not
yet failed.
I wish it would because there are amazing values out there in low priced
flatbed scanners.
