Epson D120 print preview question

I have a new Epson D120 printing via a Western Digital NAS device with
built in print server. That means the whole family can use it. I have
an old Epson 880 set up in exactly the same way. I know that status
monitor will not work via the NAS box.

Print preview works fine on the 880, but I can't get it to work at all
on the D120. I have set print preview as the default setting, tried all
combinations of spooling and direct printing, just about anything I can
think of in the 'properties' and 'preferences' boxes (Windows XP), and
re-installed it.

Any ideas, or do I just 'give up'?

I don't think print preview has anything to do with the printer but
whatever software you use. And on some web page, the printer may print
blank page.

Ah - for clarity I mean the print preview in the Epson software which
get installed with the driver, where you set up print quality, paper
size etc., its not the print preview in the originating software. I
find it a really good 'paper saver' as you avoid printing rubbish.
