Epson Color Stylus 640 error lights

Hi any Epson Guru out there,

I have an Epson CS 640 in with the following fault. The customer
bought and installed two new cartridges following my advice and
nothing works. He has the two cartridge warning lights on solid - not
flashing - and when you press the cartridge replace button the
carriage moves to the replace position. I suspect that the micro
switch that operates when you insert a cartridge is faulty, however
is it possible that both have gone bad.

Any pointers would be helpfull, thanks in advance.

Found the answer to this problem, the cable that connectes to the
printhead carrier became disconnected, the printer could not detect a
printhead. Once reconnected it works well, thankfully no apparent
dammage.
