Epson 4870 Scan Samples Posted

A tip of the hat to Michael Tienhaara who
contributed a couple of scan samples from
his Epson 4870.

These can be seen set against samples
from an Artixscan 2500, at

http://www.terrapinphoto.com/jmdavis

Judge for yourselves. The site above is
merely a gallery of scan samples, and I
offer no judgements or interpretations
of the scans presented there.

I do reserve the right to update/replace
any samples at any time, particularly as
new and better samples become available
(either my own or from contributors.)

You are comparing a 35mm transparency on Velvia from an unknown camera where
the parameters are unknown (tripod, lens type, aperture, correct exposure,
etc?) to an image recorded by someone else using a totally different film on
a 4x5 camera or 35mm camera of unknown type with unknown parameters (tripod,
lens type, aperture correct exposure, etc). This isn't a flame, but an
honest question... What are we supposed to take away from this comparison?

Thanks,
Doug

Take what you want, and leave the rest.

This is a gallery of scan samples, no more
and no less.

I'm not going to defend or justify this effort.
Been there, done that.
