Envelopes and labels....no contacts available

When I open "Word", and try to access my contacts from "envelopes and
labels" to add an address, I'm told that I don't have a default mail client,
even though I've opened Outlook and been into Tools>options>make outlook my
default mail client>apply. How do I make my contacts available to word?

When you click on the address book icon in the Envelopes and Labels menu, it
opens another menu called "Select Name." There is a drop-down box that
enables you to access other sets of contacts. Select the one you want. Word
will eventually realize that the one you keep selecting is your default
list.

Sorry Richard....not in this version. I used to do that with Windows 98, but
not any more.
When I click the address book icon, that's when I get the Message I mentioned.
Even though Outlook is set as my default mail client.

You've found the buried setting in Outlook's Options, but have you also set
Outlook as your default mail client in Internet Options | Programs? I don't
know whether that makes a difference or not, but it might be a factor.

thanks Suzanne.....
Yes I have, but it makes no difference to my contacts list.
It is very, very complicated. There are threads running from one bit of
program to another and others.......
I can now GET the contacts tab to appear, but there are no contacts????????
Going on holiday to Somerset in 30 minutes so won't be able to respond....
will check in 2 weeks, and thanks for trying.
