Envelope Format

I am trying to address a lot of invitations with custom size envelopes. I want to use the mail merge and I want to format the envelope font & address position. I have followed the instructions found on http://www.gmayor.com/changing_envelope_layout.htm, but I'm afraid that I still don't quite get it. How do I create an envelope for these invitations, and use the mail merge, without changing the template for ALL envelopes?

You can only have one envelope setting in a template. If you change the
settings in normal.dot it changes the settings for all envelopes based on
that template. I'm sure it says this in the web page (I'll check later).

What you need to do for this task is to create a new envelope template.
Simply setup the page size to the envelope size (or as Word is not good with
non-standard page sizes, setup the nearest larger standard page size and
adjust the margins to accommodate your requirements. As far as Word is
concerned an envelope is just a piece of paper of a particular size. Use a
frame to position the delivery address merge fields.
