When I open Windows XP, I get an error message saying "entry point
reinitialize section could not be located in dynamic link library
kernel32.dll.

What does it mean? Does it get corrected by cleaning up the registry? Or is
it some virus?

To get a quick answer to part 2 of your post: What does a scan with a
current antivirus program (meaning a version not earlier than 2002 and
using updated virus definitions) show?
