Entry Point Not Found

When I upgraded from WinXP Home to WinXP Pro yesterday, I
encounter an error message concerning "Entry Point Not
Found". The update otherwise concluded normally; but I am
left with three unresolved faults in the new system.

1. Visual Basic.net will not complete its install. (I
uninstalled VBnet prior to the upgrade, hoping to
reinstall it after the upgrade, and take advantage of more
features.)

2. My scanning software cannot find the scanner; but this
subsystem works fine on a backup computer running XPpro.

3. Adobe Photoshop 7.1 cannot create or open a document
without freezing up. I have since uninstalled and
reinstalled Photoshop, and installed all its updates.
Before and after the upgrades and reinstalls, this
installation of Photoshop was hinky in that its automatic
update feature always bombed-out with this exception:
http.cgi..tform=0DLLver=2.8.3A0Mver=2.8.33. I can install
the same Adobe package, under the same operating system,
on a backup computer with no problems.

My computer support guy tells me these three symptoms are
all traceable to a message I now get when right-clicking
on My Computer, and clicking Properties:

rundll.exe Entry Point Not Found:
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystem could not be located . . .
WINSTA.dll

I installed all the WinXP pro updates from the MS site as
soon as the upgrade was complete.

Do I need to download a dll from Microsoft? Or Adobe? If
so, how?

Thanx

" Try the following:

- Richt-click the Start button, and choose 'Open'.
- Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
- Select the View Tab.
- Under the Hidden files and folders heading select "Show hidden
files and folders".
- UNcheck the "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"
option.
- UNcheck "Hide file extensions for known file types"
- Click Yes to confirm.
- Click OK.

Find your Windows\Inf folder.

Locate and select the file "sr.inf". Right-click it and then click
Install. "

Paul, see if this helps:

"Rundll32.exe entry point not found" error message when you open My
