When i enter a series of numbers beginning with zero, the
zero disappears when I move to the next cell. How to I
get this to stop happening?

Hi

Format the cell as Custom "0000" (number of zeros in format string depends
on your data)

Hi. To solve your problem just format the cells you are inserting th
numbers to "text". The zero will not disappear

I wonder where the rest of the thread is. BEST to keep it altogether.

Hi! Thank You for responding! I tried it, my zero still disappears? Do you
have any other ideas?

Hi

Try it from start.
Start Excel. You have an empty workbook (Book1 or something like it)
Right-click on some cell, and select from dropdown list 'Format Cells'.
In Format Cells window, select category 'Custom', and enter into Type field
0000. OK.
Enter some number, p.e. 1, into newly formatted cell. Move to another cell.
You must see the entered value as 0001, otherwise is there something wrong
with your Excel setup (but I myself wasn't able to find an option forcing
such behaviour)
