entering stuff to multiple sheets

If I have a Excel 97 workbook with sheets named A, B, C....Z , and I want to
type the same formula into cell C1 in all sheets at the same time, how to
do? I know you have to select all the sheets, but what about from there?
This was pretty easy 20 years ago in Lotus.

easy here
select the sheets desired by holding the ctrl key and selecting
enter the formula on the 1st sheet
select any sheet

record a macro if desired.

Go to the cell where you want the formula. Then press CTRL and click all the
sheets you want the same formula into. Type your formula and to remove the
selection, click the tab of a sheet that was not included.
