Enter will not move cursor from edited text field

This a small, but annoying problem. I created a datasheet form using the
wizard. The form contains text and numerical fields. Hitting enter will move
the cursor to the next field from a numeric field or from an unedited text
field as it should.
However, when I enter information into a text field and then I hit enter,
the text entered disappears from view and the cursor does not move to the
next field. The information entered is still there and becomes visible again
when I hit the left arrow key, but cursor can be moved to the next field only
with the right arrow key or with the mouse. Why does not the enter key move
my cursor to next field from an edited text field?

Set that control's Enter Key Behavior property to Default.
Somehow it is set to New Line in field.
It's on the property sheet's Other tab.
