Enter key on 10-key doesn't work

In excel 2000, when you hit the enter key on the 10-key portion of th
keyboard, it drops down to the next cell. in excel 2002 i've seen som
cases where this does not happen, where it does nothing. is there
setting that can be changed so that in excel 2002 the enter key drop
down to the next line? thanks

hit the NUMLOCK key

Go to Tools / Options / Edit tab. Have a look at 'Move selection after
Enter'
