Enhancing the boarder highlighting of a selected cell

When a cell is selected it is highlighted with a sort of
bold boarder. We have an employee with very poor
eyesight and he is asking if we can further highlight a
selected cell with shading so that he will find it easier
to see which cell is the selected cell.
