I purchased my computer in 2002 and lost all my original programs disc in
2003. The problem is Hurricane Katrina. The computer went down and I had to
get a new motherboard but now my MicrosoftWorks won't work. It keeps saying
I need an End User Agreement. What do I do?

It doesn't want a piece of paper. It wants a product key or for you to
activate the product.

If it asks you for a key code then look through the documents that came with
your computer and get it from there, if it asks you to agree to the EULA,
then it's up to you if you want to agree or not.

The error message says, "Cannot display the end user license agreement which
must be displayed and accepted before you can use the application. To
display the agreement, reinstall the application." I don't have the disc to
reinstall. I lost it years ago when I moved.

If it is asking you to agree to the EULA, well, that's your choice. Agree
and install, or disagree and abort the install.

If it is asking for a product code, you'll either get it off a sticker on
the computer or have to call Microsoft and convince them that you have a
legal copy.

If it is asking to activate the product then activate it. Click the button
to do the activation over the Internet if you have a connection, or call the
telephone number the dialog gives you.

If you cannot convince Microsoft, collect on your insurance. Unfortunately,
rare few folks bother to include their computers on their insurance (if not
covered under existing clauses) *and* to include software replacement
(insurers won't ever insure data).

Microsoft has a huge support database which users can search at-will. Just
visit http://support.microsoft.com, select the product (or all products),
and enter the string on which you want to search. For example, on doing a
search on "Cannot display the end user license agreement which must be
displayed and accepted before you can use the application", one of the
articles returned was http://support.microsoft.com/?id=255875. Since you
say that you no longer have the installation CDs for the product(s), you'll
have to call Microsoft to get replacement CD(s). Use the "Contact Us" link
at the bottom of their home page.
