End Custom Show in Powerpoint 2000

I have a custom show with multiple slides. I would like to give the user a
button to end the custom show and go back to the main presentation on any of
the slides. I can accomplish this in PP 2003 by setting an action button to
"End Show." However, 2000 ends the entire presentation when I use that
command. Is there a workaround for this type of thing?

Thanks.

Hi Randy,
You can copy and save the main presentation under a different name, place an
Action button for return at the last slide and select" Hyperlink to: Other
presentation."
Here enter the name of the main presentation.

Randy,

When you create the 'action setting' to the 'custom show' are you ticking
the 'show and return' button ?

That way there is no need to 'end the show' as powerpoint will show the
'custom slides' and then return from whence it came!

Dave,

Thanks for the response. This is not practical for me since I have a 35 MB
presentation that will be distributed on a CD. Also, wouldn't you end up
having multiple layers of presentations by using this method?

Taj,

Yes, I am clicking "show and return." In some cases, the user may not want
to view the whole custom show, they may want to exit early. That is why I
need to exit the custom show.

Thanks.
