encrypted files

had to re-install xp and had my documents including
current resume and faxes encryted for protection and now
can not access them. Follewed instructins for mmc but
only came up with add under polices and no create. Need
to save files.

any help would be appreciated. This one has me stumped
big time. Using a workgroup and no domain.
