Encrypt Information When Using the Network

In Tools, Services, Properties of Exchange Server, Advanced Tab, there
is a section called Encrypt Information. There is a check box within
that section which states "when using the network". When that box is
checked, what does that mean? Does that mean Outlook requests the RPC
session to the server be encrypted? Are there any technical articles
describing this encryption? I've been searching constantly and all I
can find is info on KM server and certificates and signing messages.
I'm just trying to find out if information sent between and Outlook
client and an Exchange server is encrypted within the RPC session! If
someone knows please reply here or email me at (e-mail address removed),
or both. :)

Thanks much!

Bump. Come on, someone has to know what the encrypt network setting
actually does within Outlook. :) Please respond.

It means that the Outlook client and the Exchange server will communicate
using encryption. Hee Help>Encryption for more information.

Does this mean that email is sent in clear text when this box is not
checked?

Microsoft seems to have dozens of articles on message encryption with
ssl and key mgmt server, but nothing on the outlook client/exchange
server encryption which occurs. Can anyone provide a link to any
useful information describing this encryption?
