Hi,
IE 6.0 Windows 98
Problem just today every time I go to a new site or open a
new window or go to the next page the View/Encode is on
Auto and Western European ISO instead of Western European
Windows.
This causes pictures not to show. I have to reset the
encode to WE Windows every time (page). How can I get
this to stop?? This was not a probelm last night. The
only thing I have changed is I downloaded an update to
Zone Alam. I appreciat any help. Thanks

Try this:

1. First close all browsers, except one.
2. Uncheck the Auto select, then
3. choose the encoding that you want.
4. Close that browser.
5.Open a new browser, and check what the encoding is set
to.

If this doesn't work, you can also try steps 1-4 with
step 6:

6. Restart your computer, then perform step 5 and stop.

Some issues are covered in this article.

Pictures Are Not Displayed on Web Sites in Internet Explorer
A Web page may display an image as a red X, or a placeholder may appear in
place of the image.
Covers also this problem: Web page that is encoded for the Western European
(ISO) code page might not display any images:

You may also try to repair IE if all fails.
