Sorry if this has been asked before but it is a simple one!

Can Outlook 2002 SP3 connect and download emails from Microsoft Exchange
Server 2003?

Thank you Sue.

I am pretty new to all this so please bear with me. Our company uses
Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 for email and email filing. We currently
access our emails thorugh a citrix metaframe which has Outlook 2003, however
I wish to set up the desktop PC's to access emails on the Microsoft Exchange
Server without the need to go thorugh citrix. I am trying to do this using
Outlook 2002 SP3, using the same Server Address and user name as set up on
the Citrix version of Outlook (which works perfectly), but to no
avail.....every time I click check name button it thinks for a little while
(presumably trying to connect to the server) and then tells me it can not log
on to the server. Are there persmissions that need to be reviewed at the
sevrer end or access rights given to certain users?

Any ideas or links to pages for setting this up?

Does it check the name when ip address of server is used instead of DNS name???

As Damon suggests, this sounds more like a network connectivity issue than an Outlook issue. I'd suggest you pursue it with the experienced Exchange administrators in the microsoft.public.exchange.clients newsgroup.
