Hello all,

How do (can) I enable the temperature monitor feature in my BIOS. I want to
read temperature/fan RPM data for my computer. I have a program that will
read the data, but it does not appear to be communicating with the system
because there are no readings. I have talked to Compaq tech support about
this but they are taking a while to get back to me...hopint someone has some
advice here!

My system is a Compaq Presario 5106CA with Windows XP. I have kept all
original hardware with the computer with the exception of the RAM.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Windows has no settings for things in the BIOS. you can try contact the
maker of the BIOS (Award, Phoenix, etc)

Enter bios during post (usually f1,2 or 11 or del key-
check your manual)and look for anything that shows temp.
If it isn't there it probably isn't supported by your
bios. Check for updates to flash the bios.
