Enable me to change my e-mail from pop3 to imap

I should be able to change my e-mail from pop3 to imap. Instead, I have to
delete the one and open a whole new account. It's annoying.

These are two different mail protocols. Switching from one to the other would be like converting an FM radio signal to AM or vice versa -- not possible, at least not in any practical sense.
