Enable File Sharing by command-line (WinXP). HELP!

File Sharing is disabled in WindowsXP by default. The only way to have it
enabled is to go into sharing tab and select "Just Enable File Sharing" (or
run the Wizard from there). Is there a way in WindowsXP to enable File
Sharing via a command-line or registry change? I need to do it via the
script... The statment 'net share C=C:' DOES create the share, but it DOES
NOT enable file sharing! On the other hand, clicking that "just enable file
sharing" enables the damn thing. How does it do it??? I tried to look through
the list of services, I tried to see what registry keys get changed (with
Regmon), but to no avail. Please help!

Hi

You might get something to work with snetcfg.exe...

If you want to use Snetcfg.exe to _enable_ File & Print Sharing (F&PS
already installed, but the checkbox is not checked), you will have to
uninstall F&PS first, and then install again (using snetcfg.exe for
both tasks). This will make the checkbox checked.

I searched internet all over for an answer until somebody gave a very useful
hint on one of the forums. So here is a piece of his (and now mine, too)
wisdom. To enable file sharing automatically in WinXP, you need to make sure
in the registry that
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\forceguest=dword:0
