ENABLE ADD TO DICTIONARY

I have Word 2007. I am unable to use the "add to dictionary" option when
using the spell check features. How can I get the function added to my
options?

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Y2hhcHB5?=,

Most often, if "Add to dictionary" isn't available in the right-click menu
it means there's a conflict between the available languages installed and
enabled on your machine vs. the language with which the text is formatted.

If you look at the status bar you should be able to see that language. If
you don't, right-click the status and activate the "Language" option.

Is the language of the text English (or the language you're expecting)? If
not, try selecting that section of text then applying the language you want
to use: Click on the language in the status bar to open the dialog box.
Hi I tried the above solution, but to no avail. All languages are set the
same, but I am still not able to use the add to dictionary option. Does
anyone know of any other fixes. Thanks

Hi Hill,

In Word 2007, if you use
Office Button=>Word Options=>Proofing=>[Custom Dictionaries[
are you able to use the 'Edit Word List' choice for your custom dictionary file?

Are you able to create a new custom dictionary for one specific language setting and does the 'Add to dictionary' choice then work
if you restart Word?

Was this a new installation of Office 2007 or an upgrade/migration from an earlier version?
