Empty excel file is too large

I deleted all sheets from my excel file which was 7M.
However, the file is still 2M. I only have one sheet on
it, which is empty.
Why is the file so big? There is no VBA code behind it, or
any formula.
I create another blank excel file, and it's only 80K bytes.
Why is my file still 2M?

NOTE: When I send it to a TEXT FILE, I see garbage
characters.

Don't save the file in two versions but only as Microsoft excel workbook
Not as 97-2002 & 5.0/95 workbook(this make your workbook big)
