embedded movie starts but video is not visible on second screen

Using PP2003. Two video cards, one for projection. Use presenter view when
running the presentation. When trying to play Movies that are inserted in a
slide, the movie starts, audio is heard but the actual picture does not show
up on the second monitor. Video will play on primary monitor when in edit
mode.

I too am having this problem. I have visited the link you recommend, but it
doesn't really help!

I have got multiple monitors. They work. I can get a powerpoint presenttion
going with my notes on my laptop screen, but the actual presentation on the
projector. Brillient. I can even use other apps on my laptop whilst the
projector is showing a slid. Awsome.

BUT

I also use video in my presentations. (I'm a teacher.) If I have the laptop
set up to show the same thing on both the internal display and the projector,
then the playback software automatically detects the second monitor and
switches it into full-screen playback mode. I have the normal little window
on my laptop, from where I can control the show (and possibly do other
things). Trouble is, when I do this, I can't use my laptop for other things
(like recording marks, taking a register etc) while I'm showing a slide show.

If I set up for dual monitors, I have a wonderful powerpoint experience, but
now the video playback is broken and I have to drag the playback window over
to the second monitor (it's an extended desktop) and then try to control it
over my shoulder (I stand facing my class with the projection screen behind
me) not easy.

Then I discovered embedding a movie in the powerpoint show. Fantastic!
(although, I don't get the ability to control the movie as much...) except
that with the dual monitor system, with notes on the laptop and the slideshow
on the projector, movies just don't work! Usually, I just get a black box on
the projection screen where the move should be! It DOES play - the sound is
there and I can see it on the laptop screen, but that ain't much use!!

So, is there a solution for this? I've seen many references to the problem,
but no solutions. I'm tired of switching video display settings during
lessons (particularly with some of my more challenging classes where I really
could do without the disruption!.

Help!

Bump!

Anyone have ANY ideas how to solve this?

I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to use movies in presentations on dual
monitors.

I am having the same problem! The video won't play! I tried to re-install
office and now Presenter View won't even work! The slide show starts on the
external monitor, but it doesn't bring up presenter view...and the video clip
won't show.

I had this problem before and had to uninstall office and then manually
remove traces of office in the registry and one other place (but I can't
remember the other file!!) At the time there seemed to be a conflict with
Outlook and Presenter View in PPT.
